SeptWPW2- Beginning Pottery Wheel2

September 4 @ 2:00 pm 5:00 pm

(Age 18 and over)

This class teaches beginning skills on the pottery wheel and is a great for those with no pottery wheel experience or those who just need a refresher in wheel skills. The class fee is for the whole month which includes four (3 hour) sessions and will meet once a week for four weeks at the same day of the week and time as the first class meeting. Please bring an old towel you will need one to wipe your hands and surfaces during throwing. Towels/paper towels for that purpose will not be provided by the studio. We also do not provide aprons so feel free to bring your own.

You will want to trim your fingernails short as longer nails complicate learning this skill. The class is repeatable as the instructor will continue to teach new skills and techniques as your own skill grows.  It generally takes more than one 4-week session to grow in skill and we want you to know that most people will not be proficient in the wheel without continued practice.  For that reason, studio time is available for current and prior students whenever there are open wheels at $10/hour you will just need to verify open times before coming in.  Included in the price of the class is enough clay for average usage, all firing and bucket glazes, and a shelf to store your items during the class.  The first day of the class gives the student a lot of information, approx 30-45 minutes of orientation, so please do not sign up for a class if this is your first time and you cannot make the first meeting.  A different skill is covered for each class meeting,  missing any class time puts the student behind and it is difficult to catch up.   Any pieces made by the student that are left behind for more than 90 days will be discarded unless prior arrangements have been made.  If a student misses any classes I will try to slot them into another class within the same week schedule and within the same month as the original class, but this is not always possible.

A bleach solution will be used to disinfect tools and surfaces between students and sessionsIf you have an apron that you’d like to wear feel free to bring it. If you have previously purchased a gift certificate for a class please call the studio or sign up in person for your class.  The following information outlines our refund policy:
